The US Constitution

The US Constitution is dominant. The constitution is an administration document, talking and describing what and how, this new country will be run. In comparison to the teen adult books I read, the executive document is a little boring. Telling how old the delegates need to be, or how long they needed to be a citizen of America to qualify.

However, my feelings were changeable when I was skimming though it. I was fascinated reading the constitution, talking about our new country. The country that just received freedoms from Britain, the country, with the right equipment and strategy, the odds favorably at their hands, freed themselves and allowing them to believe whatever religion they wanted too, and to speak whatever they wanted to speak.

I keep thinking how cool it would have been to see James Madison using an apparatus quill, writing down laws benefiting our country. The freedom has remained continuous so far, allowing us to believe what we want to believe. And even though our country faces bankruptcy, I find our country exceptionally acceptable and quite amazing. I am glad that our country is free and I find our country history interesting.

Fears and Paranoias of living on a boat

When we set off for our new journey, I was utterly excitable. However there it’s always that nagging voice in the back of your mind. The voice telling you fantasies and the what if’s. What if the sails rip, what if we sink, what if dad falls off. The definition of fear is an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. For me, fear isn’t a small whisper in the back of my mind. I’m an athlete running the track, while fear is the coach running after me, yelling through a megaphone. The paranoias are consistent and abundant in my mind. When a sail flaps back from the force of the wind, my heart seems to beat as fast as the wind. Another paranoia, is when we are asleep, the nagging voice in my mind keeps wondering if the anchor isn’t going to hold, then, consequently, crash into the rocks and sink. The journey from Green turtle to Marsh harbor, the anxiety of the mast falling was the main attraction in my mind. I am scared that somehow if something goes wrong, I couldn’t help or worse, I was the one that made the problem impossible to solve.

However the category of fear leads down to one fear that I dream will never happen. There is a storm, during the annual hurricane season, that knocks over mom and dad leaving me to take care of my three little sisters. Having to take down the sails by myself. Compared to dad I am no sailer. I sail the boat into a rock and we sink. I make it to land, but just me. If my family were dead, I would be all alone, but I would see them again. Now if they were alive, that would be a bulldozer smashing me into the ground. Imagine baby Jayd, all by herself, not knowing who to call, in a group of people who can do her harm. These events are extremely rare, however and I hope they never come true. Fears and paranoias can control your life. Life with fear isn’t living. Each day, very slowly, I try my best to conquer my fears.

The beach and it's treasures

My pants are soaked from the absorption of the ocean waves. I was about to wade in deeper, but then I saw a shadow. I couldn’t distinguish if it was a shark or sand being picked up by the current. I back up. Being eaten by a shark isn’t on my calendar. The risk is not worth it. Even though the actuality of being eaten by a shark is very low.

I turn my attention to the seashells on the sandy ground. I find a considerable amount of shells littering the floor. I come upon shells that look like angel wings. The pink stretches out to the tips, expanding as if paint spilled and spread around the edges. I stuff the shell in my pocket, making room because I was committed to find more. I set out my endeavor to find a sand dollar or a sharks tooth.

While walking down the smooth surface of the beach, to my right a man was building an exceptional sandcastle, something I could never do nor have the patience to do so. I complemented him on his good work and continued my way down vacation heaven.

When I bend over to pick up a shell, my eyes drift up. I found an association of starfish. Purple, red, yellow, and orange. I was about to pick up a white one when I realized that my eyes have deceived me. The fallacy almost made me touch a jellyfish, and I jump back. I bend down to get a closer look at the sea creature. I stare at it with fascination. The jellyfish is definitely something I would put on my oceanography curriculum.

I must have walked 2 miles, because I couldn’t even see where I left my stuff. I look down at the horizon, watching the sunset. My feet crunch the shells beneath me, and a line of a mysterious and extraordinary shells waiting to be picked up just for me. The darkness is rising in the sky, telling me that I should head back, before the sunlight is fully gone. But the seashells and the beaches treasure beckon me. I smile. There is always tomorrow.

Snorkeling for seastars!

Snorkeling for seastars!

Quick Catch Up

Recently we lived in Florida for about a year. We had a great time making new friends along with memories. Then we moved to Vieques. An island 6 miles off of Puerto Rico. We lived on the awesome island for 4 months until the hurricanes hit. Our family stayed on Vieques for Hurricane Irma. It didn’t do any major damages to Puerto Rico, but we were off power. So no air conditioning, no fridge, and no showers. Now imagine all of this with 80% humidty, and 90 degree climate. We stayed this way for about 2 weeks, until we couldn’t take the stickiness and hot weather, so we went to Utah! It went to hot and sticky to cold and dry. The four of us girls went to a public for 5 months while my dad sailed our boat, Ooga Chaka, to Miami from South Africa. Jayd was in Kindergarten, Jane was in 4th grade, Bree was in 7th and I was in 9th. The school I went to was a little bit different than what I was used to. 9th grade was still in middle school, so I couldn’t say that I went to high school. However though, I did go to school with my sister and 4 of my cousins, which was really fun! After our 4 months at school, we left for Fort Lauderdale, Florida to meet up my dad and our boat. Ooga Chaka was so beautiful and amazing to see. It was so strange to think that this sail boat was our home, but then after a couple of days it felt completely normal. We had the boat show in Miami, which was a hit! After the boat show, I spent a week with really good friends. It was a time I would never forget. Also my Sunday school teacher gave me a ride back home, which is our boat, and I had a really good time talking and spending time with her. When I came back home, the next day we headed off to the Bahamas! It took 16 hours to get to our first destination. Our first anchorage went smoothly, which means I didn’t mess up and our first sunset was breathtakingly gorgeous! Our journey has officially started and I can’t wait to explore the world!

Family Pictures 2017

Family Photos. I love taking photos with my family but this time it was unique. We had a wonderful time taking pictures at the beach, and how the wind blew through our hair, and the waves crashing into our backs. Not really, just trying to make the description more exaggerating. Even though I'm supposed to be a teenager and hate hanging out with my family, we had a blast and I wouldn't wish to be with anyone else

I had a really good hair day, but the wind obviously ruined it...kind of.

My trip to Brevard Co. Zoo

Latley I haven't been wanting to join my family in activities, but as soon as our family reaches our destination I enjoy the activity. This weekend our family loaded up to visit the local zoo in Brevard County. There are a lot of different animals species. One thing that haven't seen in a zoo before is themes. I really liked it. When I entered and saw the different animals I felt like I was in a different world. It was incredible. They had certain animals go into themes. For example mer-cats, giraffes, rinos, camels, and ostriches were gathered in one theme and it was called Africa. Also alligators, crocodiles, monkeys, snakes, and sloths are put in the Florida theme. I also liked the employees. They are super friendly and cooperative. They answered a lot of my questions, And bonus point, you can tell that they put time and effort into their jobs, and that they really care about the animals. But there are a few things that can change. I couldn't find one water fountain in the entire park. We ran out of water on the second theme. I also think they need more animals. They just have the same animals that every other zoo has. And everything was so expensive. One piece of lettuce cost $2.00 just to feed a giraffe. There are things to be unexpected though, like there is a monkey called the Sun Lion Monkey. You think it would be pretty big, but it's really small, its probably the size of a baby monkey. My ultimate favorite part was visiting the stingrays and fishes. One sting ray was really big and was gliding on the side of the glass, so I put my hand in the water and touched it. It was slimy and smooth at the same time. The employee that was there said that the texture on its body helps it glide through the water faster. I found that fascinating. I was about to leave and it came back again, only to do a little trick. It splashed water everywhere and I got soaked. I was kind of happy about that though, I was really hot. I wasn't really looking forward to go to the zoo, but I'm glad I did. I recommend coming to the Brevard Zoo, if you are bored. It's great to see animalsand seeing what they are like. If you have an assignment on a certain animal, come to this zoo. You can learn about the animals, and if you have questions the workers will definitely help you out.

The clock turned to 2:27. That means lunch time, and my stomach was screaming for some coral. The normal day of a starfish. Wake up, find a spot to have breakfast, then take a nap till lunch. Starfish come everywhere from the ocean to eat this coral. I found a nice area where no one can find me. Best spot in town where the food is beyond belief. Just minding my own business, currently eating the wonderful coral, then I saw a shadow cross over me. I tried to tell myself that I need to stay calm, but it didn’t work. My fear wasn’t going anywhere. When I almost peed my pants it reached it's dangerous large tentacles. They look a lot like my stems but without my pokey sides. Anyway, they were big and scary. It picked me up and I was screaming inside. What happens if I never see my family ever again. As the creature glides through the water, I got to see the neighborhood, it was outstanding, I never got to see it from this point of view. I looked at the monster, and I never seen anything like it.  I saw bubbles coming out of a tube. There next to his face, a little tube, it looks like it helps him breathe. I keep looking forward and we are over the clear yellow sand. NO NO we can't go to the land we can't, way to dangerous for me. It could dry me up and kill the life out of me. He comes out of the water and I try to control my breathing. Then I see things that look exactly this creature. But these creatures look a little different. They have longer hair, and don’t have hair on their faces. As I look at it, they are all different sizes. That means some of them are older and some of them are younger. I looked at them and they are very pretty and beautiful. They took care of me. The oldest one put me in the water a couple of times. One of them wanted to throw me in the water. I almost screamed, but the two other ones put me somewhere else. I saw a whole bunch of rock and little tide pools. They put me in one and they watched to see what I could do. Eventually they left to go to their home. I was sad when they left, but hide tide came by and swept me back to my home and rock. Biggest adventure in my life and hopefully the only one.

Costa Rica here we come

Found our beach and already loving the clouds and waves

My Trip to Costa Rica

Things you can do while you are there.

Every single year, my parents take us on a journey to a different country. This year they decided to take us to the lovely and amazing Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is a beautiful country. And Costa Rica is a very popular tourist area. It has active volcanoes that spew hot lava and stars that light up the night sky through the many rainforest tree's. Whether it's back packing through the mountains or just relaxing down at the crystal water beaches, you will have a splendid time.

The one thing that you have to see is the Sunsets. Every night at 6:00 exactly the sun goes down below. Sometimes the're clouds that are in the way but it can still be a wonderful sight. The sky fills with all sorts of different colors. And the clouds absorb them. The clouds can be pink, yellow, orange, and we even saw purple cotton candy clouds. So if want a romantic dinner or have a memorable night with family go to the beach and watch the sunset and let it take your breath away.

Want to take an adventure, got to Diamanté Adventure Park. It has lots of activity from horseback riding to superman Ziplining. Have you ever wondered what it is it like to fly. With the wind in your hair and your mouth bouncing around like a dogs with his head out of the car's window? Then this is the Zipline for you. The Zipline is a 1 mile long and is about 2:00 min. When you go off the edge you are scared and baffled. You have an amazing view of the beach and the forest. When you zip down the line you feel like you're flying like a bird . Diamanté also has the largest animal sanctuary in Guanacaste. You have the chance to stand close, face to face to the animal species of the rainforest. The sanctuary has Sloths, Monkeys, Pumas, Jaguars, and Toucans. They also have dozen of other species. Frogs, Snakes, Birds, and a world class butterfly exibit. Diamanté is an adventure you surely don't want to miss.

Beaches are totally worth a long drive to visit. In Playa Flamingo, waves can get up to 10 feet. Wonderful for surfing, and fun to just jump over them. Pirate beach has everything for a fun day at the beach. You can either look for creatures in the rocks, jump big waves, get some sun, or even go to the island. Beaches are beautiful in Costa Rica, and you wished you weren't anywhere else.

How it all began

Being asked to leave my home and friends at the beginning of my teenage years was not that easy. I can't say that I went willingly, but I didn't put up much of a fight. You will always find friends where ever you are. Sometimes your family is all the friends you need. Follow me as I take a little more honest approach to some of the crazy things we do as a family.
